MED Farm Safety Initiative 2018
As farming is now regarded as the most dangerous occupation, MED Rural Development Company for the fourth year, has decided through a grant initiative, to promote investment in areas where the majority of accidents and fatalities occur on the farm.
MED Rural Development Company, ‘Farm Safety Initiative 2018’
Farm Safety Initiative Covering:
- Animal Handling – Installation of Calving Gate/ Head Scoop/ Backing Bars in existing house
- Equipment – Chainsaw Gear (Trousers, Helmet & Gloves)
- Machine Safety – Replacement of PTO Shaft (Including cover)
- Power Systems – Installation of Electrical Circuit Breakers
- Skills: EB Licence – Van/Jeep Trailer Course – (Swilly Group Training)
- Farmyard Improvements – Slurry Pit Manhole Covers
- Farmyard Improvements – Farmyard Sensor Lighting
- Livestock Handling Equipment – Roll Over Crate For Sheep
- Personal Safety Equipment – Safety Boots & Chemical Masks
- Safe Storage – Medicine Cabinet / Chemical Store
These Farm Safety Improvements will be grant aided under a MED Partnership Farm Safety Initiative 2018. The payment of grant will be subject to submission of relevant invoices. The Maximum Payment will not exceed 50% on any action. The Maximum Grant Payable will be : €150.00.

The Rural Enterprise Skillnet is funded by member companies and the Training Networks Programme, an initiative of Skillnets Ltd. funded from the National Training Fund through the Department of Education and Skills.
